Response to a Fan – Why do you write these stories?
Book Reviews , My Thoughts / October 4, 2017

I had a reader reach out to me recently and to protect the “innocent”, I am keeping her identity secret.  She asked me why I write stories about the transgendered community… in fact, her exact words were “Why do you write about crossdressing fags?” I have never been shy about wanting feedback, good or bad, but this one struck a nerve.  For those who have read my work, I am more than just an erotica writer.  My decision to write about the transgendered community is a personal one, but not completely private.  My interest in writing about transgendered individuals is because of my introduction and experiences in the lifestyle.  While not my choice, I accepted my circumstances and made my confusing experiences a part of my everyday life. I draw from my experiences when I write.  Sometimes they are pure sexual fantasy, but many times, they are memories that inspire me to tell a greater story.  As much as we don’t like labels, the world has accepted them for the most part, but a label, unfortunately, is not just a word. Some labels breed emotions that we would rather not see or hear about.  It was clear this reader was…

#BookReview of Don’t Tell Anyone by Nikki Crescent
Book Reviews / September 3, 2017

Don’t Tell Anyone was FANTASTIC!!! 4 STARS The initial premise of the story had a bit too much math for me and the idea of the party seemed a bit desperate, which I think was intentional.  Once Andrew and Riley meet though… It was pure high school sexual frustration, confusion and romance all rolled into one. The one night stand and subsequent avoidance were predictable, and the implied fear of rumors was a reminder of my days in high school.  I wished the ending was a little more on the humiliating side, but it might have taken away from the premise of the story of young love. #BookReview of She Used To Be A Man by Nikki Crescent
Book Reviews / September 3, 2017

She Used to be a Man is a great short story by Nikki Crescent. I easily related to this story being the athlete in college and having an unusual roommate, but the thrill of this story for me was when a member of the family arrived for the weekend.  The title gives most of the story away, but Nikki builds up the characters at the beginning enough to keep you interested and then brings in raw emotion during the exciting moments of the story. Many stories of this type can be very predictable, and this one generally does as well, but the details of the story will keep you interested and aroused.  The common situation of distance between siblings added to the suspense of the initial reaction during the reunion, and the story being told by the roommate helped maintain some small mystery throughout. The long conversation between Carl and Alice might turn off some who are just looking to “get off” but I found it very enjoyable and more than that believable.  The story did have some peaks and valleys, and the conflict lasted longer than it probably should have, but it was a still a really good distraction and…

#BookReview of Falling for My Bully by Amanda Mann
Book Reviews / September 3, 2017

Turnabout is fair play.  I occasionally receive feedback and reviews on my work and it is always nice to return the favor with some of my favorite authors.  Amanda Mann is one of them.  She writes great stories with a style that allows you to get into the hearts and minds of the characters she writes about. I really enjoyed Falling for My Bully.  The story about two people who began as friends then separated by adolescence and peer pressure, only to be reunited later as adults.  The story scenes were fantastic and very descriptive.  Amanda showed Donnie/Sasha’s vulnerable side throughout, by including “her” thoughts in line with the actual conversation. The conflict of Sasha’s ability to hide her secret and still find the pleasure she was looking for was a great build up to one of the shocking moments of the story but didn’t affect the predictable ending. Definitely a good read for those who remember being bullied in school and even those of you who were the bully. Pick up your copy today on Amazon
